They wanted it to be comfortable, light and casual and set up to hold a lot of people. Also, they wanted the room to feel larger than it really was. Design Concept: Make big statements Design Solution: The Entryway: Foundry Molds as a hanging sculpture and blue high gloss painted ceiling (adds the perception of an extra foot of height.) |
Program:
They wanted room for everyone and company to be gathered around the table but were worried about the comfortable chairs scratching up the floor Design Concept: Open design concept with the living room while still keeping the spaces separate. Design Solution: A table that can seat up to 18 people with a canvas compass rug (circular, to contrast the living room's rectangular rug) that matches the dimensions of the table and extends by 3 1/2 ft. all the way around |

They wanted a place where they could eat in the kitchen so they wouldn't have to always eat in the dining room to enjoy a mean together. Design Concept: Wanted a space that was full of sunlight and open to the ocean views. Design Solution: Placed the breakfast area in the old dining area where the sun shines all morning and afternoon through the windows all through the room. There are also doors that lead outside to allow more opportunity to enjoy the view available. Inside there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the sun and company of all those who are there. |
Program:
A master bedroom where they can relax. They also want to be able to incorporate their exotic style to the house. Design Concept: Create more space and incorporate the surrounding environment into the room. Design Solution: A rug that covers the entire room gives an exotic style to the room along with the bone-inlay Moroccan style dresser. A large milk carton rattan trunk allows the seaside beach feel to enter the room. The extra space was made by relocating the dressing room that was off to the right of the photo. |
